St. Timothy’s Music Programs
Sing unto the Lord a new song! Sing unto the Lord, all the earth… proclaim the good news…from day to day. Psalm 96: 1-2
Canterbury Choir
Canterbury Choir is comprised of adults and high school students and provides anthems and other music to lead worship at the traditional Eucharist each Sunday. In addition to Sunday morning music, the choir prepares music for several Evensong services throughout the year. Additional services include Ash Wednesday, and Maundy Thursday among others.
Rehearsals are on Thursday from 7PM until 9PM and a warm-up rehearsal on Sunday morning before the service.
No auditions are required for membership; however, new members may be asked to vocalize for the director in order to be placed in the proper section.
Please feel free to contact Mike Mason at the church office (281-255-4111) if you would like to discuss being a part of this vital ministry.
Joyful Noise
Joyful Noise is the band that leads worship for St. Timothy’s Contemporary Service. We have several different instrumentalist and vocalist. Some of the instruments include guitar (Acoustic & Electric), flute, keyboards, congas, drums, and bass (We are always open to new instruments.). We meet to practice on Thursdays at 6pm, and lead worship on Sundays.
If you would be interested in joining Joyful Noise as an instrumentalist or singer, please contact Nicholas Gerber for audition information at 281 255-4111 or at ngerber32@gmail.com.
Canterbury Kids
Canterbury Kids, the children’s choir at St. Timothy’s, spend an hour every Wednesday night, beginning at 5pm, having fun, learning, dancing, snacking, sharing and worshipping. This choir is for any child in 1st-6th grade that loves music and the Lord, regardless of whether he can sing. We learn to sing together as well as to read music, sign to music and grow spiritually as a group. Basically, we have a blast!
Several times a year, Canterbury Kids perform in the church service to share our gifts with others. It is a rewarding experience to let your “light” shine for others, but we really sing for God.
If you have a child who is interested in joining Canterbury Kids, please contact Lisa Musick at 281-255-4111.
